Strangers using a secluded copse near Kirtlington for outdoor sex have been moved on by police.
The practice of meeting strangers for sex in a public place, known as dogging, had been taking place at a small wood along Port Way.
Police took action after a female jogger came across a naked man running out of the copse two months ago.
After an investigation, the man was arrested but released without charge and Kidlington officers began patrolling the area to deter future sexual activities.
Sergeant Colin Travi, of Kidlington police, said: “We have had a few complaints. My officers have made follow-up visits and we have done some patrols out there.
“Those partaking in the activity have been warned not to frequent the area for sexual purposes.”

POLICE are stepping up patrols in the Northumberland countryside after growing complaints over "dogging" on a secluded former road.
Villagers at Belsay in Northumberland say so-called “dogging” – car occupants meeting for sex – is steadily on the increase. Now police are to tighten up their watch on the site close to the A696 at Nunhill.
Although no arrests have been made, complaints from residents at the exclusive village have grown in recent years.
Local councillor Richard Dodd said: “This has been going on for three or four years and it’s something residents who live within a few hundred yards of have become quite upset over.
“I’ve brought it up before and the police have been involved before but if it’s going to be a constant problem I will pursue it further.
“This is a part of the old road that was there before the A696 was built and you often see half a dozen or so car headlights in there. It’s also used by poachers, and I’ve looked at whether the road can be got rid of – but the problem is there are utilities under there.”

Concerned councillors are campaigning to get bushes mown away at a notorious 'dogging' spot on the A404.
Bisham Parish Council believes tired truckers are unable to pull over and rest at the northbound layby near Temple Golf Club because people looking for gay sex with strangers are taking all the parking spaces.
Following last week's revelations about a 'dogging' spot on the A404 in Maidenhead, reporter John Balson went to discover what happens at the layby after the sun goes down.
It was dark and drizzly as I steered off the dual carriageway and into the notorious layby on the northbound stretch.
There were seven lorries and about 20 cars lined up along its length.
Almost all the spaces were taken but I just about managed to squeeze between a blue Porsche and a silver Fiesta. Both occupants were nowhere to be seen..
It was a good 10 minutes before we spotted our first sign of dogging activity. A beefy man in a tight black T-shirt emerged from the bushes zipping up his trouser flies.
Next, a man in a Landrover pulled up alongside and wound down his window beckoning me to do the same.
This was followed by dozens of cars occupied by lone men flashing their headlights or flicking their hazard lights on and off before getting out and loitering literally inches from my window.
Finally after an hour on the layby and having spotted even more 'activity', including torch lights shining in the undergrowth and more men emerging from bushes and a public footpath, I decided to call it a night and headed back out on to the road.

It does not feature in the official Cotswolds tourism guide.
But among the honey stoned cottages and rolling hills of the historic area known as the 'heart of England', visitors have been directed towards one of the areas more unpleasant sights - an 'official' dogging area.
Pointing in the direction of a view point spot known for its spectacular scenery, anyone following the official-looking sign could be exposed to a shockingly memorable view.
And the Barrow Wake view point near Circencester has apparently become a popular spot.
Today a brown and white sign, designed to replicate official signs to places of public interest, had been torn down from the Cirencester bypass at Birdlip after its erection over the Bank Holiday weekend.
David Parkinson, 53, who lives less than a mile from the 'Official Dogging Area' said Barrow Wake's reputation was a problem for local residents and that the sign had made the problem worse.
He said: 'It does tend to make the lives of local residents impossible.
'The viewpoint itself is one of the best in the area, fantastic views across Gloucestershire across the Malverns.

About 300 people have signed a petition calling
for the closure of the A31 lay-by to restrict access to Hogs
Back. Villagers in nearby Puttenham said the fields were used
"for all sorts of sexual activity", even during the day. Surrey
County Council said it had installed CCTV and was working with
police to tackle the problem. A spokeswoman said one option
was to restrict access for motorists by closing the lay-by,
but doing so could damage the trade of a nearby cafe. The villagers'
campaign is being supported by Anne Milton, the Conservative
MP for Guildford.

NEIGHBOURS sick of not being able to enjoy the
countryside around their village due to illicit outdoor sex,
have been urged to join walking parties and reclaim the land.
During the last 30 years, the sloping fields by Puttenham have
become no-go areas because of people visiting from miles around
to take part in outdoor sexual activity. This problem, known
as dogging, was made worse by a café and parking area on the
Hog’s Back, making the area even more accessible. Parents in
the village have been especially disturbed by the fact that
the area used by these people backs on to Puttenham CofE School,
with some activities taking place in view of the school borders.
With the lease of the café due to expire in September, villagers
are desperately trying to persuade Surrey County Council to
refuse the lease and close the café and lay-by to stop people
visiting the area for sex. At a meeting of Puttenham Parish
Council on Monday, campaigning mother Jules Perkins addressed
a turnout of more than 50 villagers.
She said: “What we’d really like to do is organise
walking parties. We know you don’t like it. We’ve had couples
who have been propositioned and we know men feel threatened
going up there. I go there with my dog. I don’t enjoy it, but
I do it because I’m so passionate about this. This can’t go
on. We have to reclaim that land back. “They feel they can use
it for whatever they want, whatever time of day. At 11.30am
I’ve found people sunbathing naked. There are things going on
up there morning, noon and night.” She added: “They are getting
closer to the school, that’s the real issue. It’s the children
and their naivety, their pure innocence. We want to safeguard
it for as long as possible.” At the meeting, several villagers
stated they avoided the area at all costs. Items found on the
land have included lubricant, used condoms, pornographic images,
tights and drugs paraphernalia.
Reported sightings have in-cluded men holding
their genitals and even people loitering around the children’s
swimming pool, as well as people seen having sex within sight
of homes in the village. Headteacher Lesley Dingley described
how in the past regular field study sessions had been held behind
the school but this was no longer an option. Mrs Perkins and
fellow campaigner Lydia Paterson, who last week visited the
site with Guildford MP Anne Milton, is writing to every county
councillor to invite them to take of a tour of the spot themselves.
“They seem to think that the title of a public sex environment
is comedy. The only way to get them to take us seriously is
to take them up there with us,” said Mrs Perkins. During Monday’s
meeting villagers voted 50 to 1 in favour of closure of the
Hog’s Back café and lay-by. Tony Rooth, leader of Guildford
Borough Council, will be putting forward a statement to the
county council reading: “We believe that there should not be
a public sex environment in close proximity to Puttenham school
and that the council ought to close the layby in order to remove
access to that sex site.” The motion will be discussed by Surrey
County Council’s executive on July 20.

will reduce the amount of people meeting to have sex in the
woods
The tree's - mainly conifers were cut down across the 11 hectare
site which is located on the of Darwen in Lancashire. The local
council claim that after it conducted a healt and safety survey,
it felt it necessary to take the measures. The area which runs
along the A666 was cleared by United Utilities. It was claimed
the connifers which were planted around the time of the Second
World War were in danger of falling over!
Despite this, Police and some councillors have said the trees
were removed in an effort to stop doggers meeting for sex at
this well know dogging location.
Sgt Mark Wilson, of Lancashire Police's Darwen Neighbourhood
Policing team, explained: "It's an ongoing problem and very
worrying for members of the public. "It's far too early to tell
if cutting the trees back has had any impact on the dogging
situation, but we'll be paying regular attention to the area."

POLICE ran an operation in an effort to reduce
outdoor dogging sex at a well know dogging location up on the
hill at Scammonden in West Yorkshire has led to details of over
400 vehicles being taken. West Yorkshire police used special
number plate reading software to record the details of vehicle
going to the location.
It is reported that the crack down was initiated
after the public started complaining about the dogging and piking
activities going on at the car park late in the evening.
A Huddersfield Police Officer has reported that
one couple he spoke to said they had popped up to enjoy the
view! A report in the local paper from Chief Inspector Jon Carter
said "These people are causing harassment, distress and
alarm. Residents living in the Scammonden area feel threatened
and intimidated. People taking part in activities at Scammonden
may well be committing offences ranging from public order to
outraging public decency and we will now look to take positive
action against them."
